Apachai Hopachai“God of Death”Alternative names – God of Death, アパチャイ・ホパチャイ, Apa. Voiced (Japanese) – Hiroya Ishimaru. Voiced (English) – Sonny Strait. Age – 28. Affiliation – Ryozanpaku Master. Type – Dou. Martial Arts – Muay Thai and Muay Boran. First Appearance – Battle 7. |
Apachai Hopachai is the master of Muay Thai. Having such brutal and lethal abilities when it comes to fighting he is not able to hold back which often results in the near death of Kenichi. Despite all his skills outside of fighting he has a very kind and childlike nature which is probably why he is good with animals and children. Apachai has been fighting in the ring for his life since he was a young boy, so striking with force on comes natural to him but when its revealed that Kenichi is frightened to train with Apachai, Apachai becomes saddened by this fact, so he often trains to hold back and eventually learns how to hold back, thought sometimes manages to still knock out Kenichi when excited or in his fighting mode. He is sometimes seen to nail voodoo doll into trees when he feels that Kenichi is in trouble, this is supposed to bring Kenichi good luck. When Apachai talks he often yells out “Apapapapap!” he also does this whilst training or fighting. Apachai has trouble understanding Japanese which could be one of the reasons why there are communication barriers at times.
